LheureuxCoin

About us

Know what your works will cost, before you start.

LheureuxCoin was born from a real need. While renovating a flat, it was almost impossible to estimate the materials budget in advance: plasterboard, electrics, plumbing, painting. Existing simulators gave a price per square metre without ever looking at the home. We wanted to start from the actual plan.

The problem

A renovation budget is easy to underestimate, especially when you buy a property to renovate for the first time. And there is no single, reliable price for building materials: homeowners and professionals don't buy the same products, nor on the same terms.

For a homeowner, the right price is the one charged by the big DIY retailers open to the public. For a tradesperson, it depends on their suppliers, their branch, their purchasing volume and their discounts: two companies buying the same product from the same supplier don't pay the same price.

One product, three prices

Example: a product with a public price of €100 excl. VAT.

  • Public price€100 excl. VAT
  • Company A€62 excl. VAT
  • Company B€73 excl. VAT

So there is no such thing as one “trade price” valid for everyone. That's why LheureuxCoin separates the technical need from the price.

What LheureuxCoin does

The estimate isn't based on ratios per square metre, but on the real parameters of each trade: the cross-section of a cable for the current and length of the circuit, the type and thickness of an insulation, the type of pipe in a water network.

  1. 1

    The plan

Imported or drawn, floor by floor: the walls, the rooms, the fittings.

  2. 2

    The quantities

Boards, rails, studs, screws, insulation, cables, pipes: what you really need to buy.

  3. 3

    The products

For each need, the products that meet it, in three ranges.

  4. 4

    The price source

Public prices from the big retailers, or your company's own rates.

  5. 5

    Your price

The budget that matches your situation, line by line.

Homeowners

Frame your budget before calling tradespeople

  • For a full renovation, a new build, or a single job: repainting a room, redoing a bathroom.
  • For people buying a property to renovate, often the most exposed to an underestimated budget.
  • For DIYers who do part of the works and buy their own materials.
  • Prices are those of the big retailers open to the public; a price you've seen in store can replace ours.
Professionals

Price at your own rates, from plan to quote

  • Several jobs, several trades, one single tool.
  • Your supplier price lists imported as CSV or Excel, your discounts by supplier and by product family.
  • PDF quotes in your name, drawn from the estimate, every price reviewed and approved by you.
  • Technical packs for each trade, to hand over to the client or use on site.

Our commitments

Prices that say where they come from

Every price states what it is: read from a public web page (with its address and date), calculated from prices that were read, or a market estimate. A retailer is only named if its price was actually read.

How our prices work (in French) →

An estimate, not a quote

Estimates are indicative and educational: they replace neither the assessment of a qualified professional nor, for electrics, the inspection by an approved body such as Consuel in France. Only a professional commits to a price, after a visit.

Technical rules, explained

Calculations follow rules taken from public sources (practical guides, manufacturers' guides), cited where they matter. The tutorials explain the notions you come across along the way.

No product promoted for what it earns us

Products are never ranked by commission. If a commercial link ever appeared, it would be flagged as such.

What we are not

Neither a quote comparison site nor a “three-click” simulator based on a generic ratio. LheureuxCoin is a detailed, educational technical costing tool, used before contacting a tradesperson, or by tradespeople themselves to prepare their quotes.

Where we're heading

The engine links the same technical need to different prices depending on the supplier, the profile and the commercial terms. After importing price lists as CSV and Excel, we want to offer the import of supplier invoices and quotes, then direct connections with some suppliers.

Your renovation starts with a plan.

Draw it or import it: the budget builds up as you go.
